All of our dogs are registered through the American Kennel Club and are raised in our home as family companions before anything else. The dogs we choose for our breeding program must have the appropriate Orthopedic Foundation for Animals health clearances, breed specific genetic testing, and be good examples of the Golden Retriever Breed Standard.
How it all began…
Growing up in Des Moines, Iowa I was fortunate enough to be able to be heavily involved in showing both Arabian horses and dogs. I started competing in obedience with my first Shetland Sheepdog, Darlin’s Look at Me CDX, as a junior exhibitor. “Lexie” was the best dog any little girl could have hoped to grow up with! She taught me so much about what it meant to be a good partner not only in the ring but in life as well. She was truly one of a kind! I successfully showed her to a CDX title, 1 leg short of our UD, before breeding her to a wonderful tri-male producing 4 beautiful puppies. Many of those puppies went on to become champions in multiple venues. Lexie passed away at the age of 13 to cancer. Losing her was devastating but the love I had for our journey together was one that kept me wanting another dog. I then purchased my first golden retriever, and the rest was history.
Fast Forward to today, I am enjoying life with my wonderfully supportive husband of 14 years, our four beautiful children and three amazing goldens. I have been competitively showing on and off in Obedience and Rally over these past years earning multiple titles in both. I believe that being out competing is an asset to my program and I look forward to showing as much as I can in these coming years. In 2023, I will be out with one of my females, Switch. She is always game, and I look forward to what she can bring to the ring.
Our lives are a little crazy, even on the best of days, but my dreams for this program are finally starting to come together and we can’t wait to share this journey with you.
